Laboratoire d’Études et de Recherche sur le Monde Anglophone
LERMA membership is made up of 40 permanent teaching and research staff, most of whom belong to the English Department at the University of Provence, in Aix-en-Provence (France).
We can also boast a dozen associate members, many from other universities, and forty-five doctoral students whose doctoral thesis is at present being directed by a member of the Laboratory.
The field of research covered is extensive and concerns many areas and topics in anglophone civilization, literature and linguistics.
Lerma has a federating interest in the overall questions of time, space and representations.
Our research, our discussions and conferences are rooted in a sense of place and a sense of time, and tend to see history, cultural representations and texts, language itself as so many topoi, studied prismatically.
This site aims to
provide a locus for contact and information to colleagues and fellow researchers everywhere who, for whatever reason, become interested in what Lerma is doing,
serve as a tool for the use of the members of LERMA.
